The 2016 Art show season is wrapping up. I finished up the art festival season at Art in the Park in Boise, ID where the weather was perfect and the visitors were kind, supportive as well as attentive to original art. As Fall moves in, I will be focusing on a few commissions and begin planning and building new pieces for 2017. I was given dozens of unassembled wooden plane/boat models from a neighbor and am excited to see how these materials can be transformed into art assemblages. Thanks again for another good season on the art fair circuit. Now it's time to harvest garden bounty, can, preserve and play music. Cheers!
It has been quite a winter hear in Olympia, WA as we broke the record for rainfall in the month of December of 2015. Fortunately, we are crawling out of our clam shells and gearing up for another busy art show season. I'll be exhibiting for the first time at the Bayou City Arts Festival in Houston, TX come April 29 - May 1, 2016. Our extended van will be packed to the gills in order to fit Lisa's work and display for two shows (Oklahoma City Art Festival and Bayou City) and my work and display for the one. We are hoping for clear skies, good weather and multiple BBQ/boudin stops for this 4 day driving journey. Broussard's Links in Beaumont, TX that means you.
In most of the upcoming shows, I will be exhibiting the guitar and music themed paintings. I have since framed a few of the guitar pieces on paper and I'm quite happy with the way they turned out. Alternatively, I will still have a selection of unframed works on paper that are more affordable and can be framed to your liking. I will be sending a newsletter out with a 10% off anything before it is stuffed into the van. I'm hoping to make room for my own guitar as Texas has a way of inspiring songs to be written. Thank you Spring for the hint of new beginnings, fresh starts and fragrant evenings. "at least we're enjoying the ride"
